Methodology

Flex-Cool-Store is a research project that aims to understand the impact of rising cooling requirements in the UK on energy supply infrastructure, consumers, and energy policy. We will also investigate how thermal and electrical energy storage and on-site renewable generation can help manage increased cooling loads.

The research will be interdisciplinary, combining technical and social science elements throughout the work programme. We will use various methods such as theoretical studies, simulations, household interviews, workshops, and policy analysis to gain insights and make contributions to the research challenges.

All aspects of the project are integrated, and we have an overarching element, called WP5, to ensure cohesiveness and deliver impact activities.
